Málaga airport arrivals: what to do the moment you land.
AGP is Spain's fourth-busiest airport and one of the easiest to navigate. Here is the order of what happens after wheels-down — passport, baggage, meeting point, and the four ways out.

Follow the yellow "Salida / Exit" signs from your gate. Passport control, then baggage reclaim in the same hall (Terminal 3). The meeting point is straight ahead of the exit doors. Taxis, buses and the Cercanías train are all outside within a five-minute walk.

Terminals, decoded
Almost every commercial flight now uses Terminal 3, which handles arrivals and departures under one roof. Terminal 2 is used for a handful of overflow flights and the walk between the two is under three minutes indoors. Terminal 1 is closed for commercial use. The Cercanías train station sits between T3 and T2, above ground.
Getting a taxi
The official taxi rank is directly outside the T3 arrivals hall (turn left as you exit). Fixed tariffs to the centre are €25–30, to the port €27, to Torremolinos €22, to Marbella €78. Uber and Bolt operate but pick-up is at a designated ride-share zone in the P2 car park — allow 5 min extra to walk there.
Trains, buses and rental cars
Cercanías C1 train: follow the "Trenes / Renfe" signs, five-minute covered walk. Every 20 minutes, €1.80 to María Zambrano.
Airport bus (Express A): stop right outside T3, €4, 20 min to the centre.
Long-distance buses: Avanza runs direct services from T3 to Marbella, Estepona and Fuengirola.
Rental cars: the counters (Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, Goldcar, OK Rent, Centauro) are on the ground floor of T3; parking is in P1 and P2, a 3–5 min covered walk.
A tip for parents and older travellers
The distance from gate to baggage belt can be 10 minutes on foot. Free courtesy wheelchairs are available on request — email PMR (Persons of Mobility Reduced) at the airport at least 48 hours before travel, or contact your airline. The service is genuinely reliable.
