About
About Málaga Club
Málaga Club is an independent English-language city magazine for travellers who prefer context to checklists.
We publish practical guides, cultural essays, neighbourhood notes and carefully considered recommendations across Málaga city and the wider province. Our purpose is simple: to help readers spend their time better.
Málaga is often reduced to weather and beaches. Both matter, but neither explains the city completely. This is also a place of Phoenician origins, Roman remains, Islamic architecture, working markets, contemporary art, family-run restaurants, music, processions, creative businesses and neighbourhoods that still feel distinct from one another. Our guides are written to be useful before a trip and interesting after it.
What we believe
Independence matters
We distinguish editorial coverage from commercial partnerships. Payment does not guarantee inclusion in our guides.
Details matter
A beautiful description is not enough. Readers also need to know how long something takes, whether it is worth the detour, how to get there and who will enjoy it most.
Places change
Prices, opening hours, transport and businesses can change. We date our guides, review important practical information and invite readers to report corrections.
Málaga is not a content farm
We do not publish dozens of interchangeable listicles. We build connected guides designed to answer real travel questions with clarity and character.
About the editor
Brittney Pilarcik is a writer, musician and creative producer with a long connection to Spain and Andalucía. Her work has moved between publishing, music, digital media and independent internet businesses. Málaga Club grew from the desire to create the kind of cultured, practical and visually distinctive guide that she wanted to read herself.
