Golf in Málaga: six courses within 40 minutes of the city.
Málaga sits at the head of the Costa del Sol, Europe's densest concentration of golf. You do not need to drive to Marbella to play well — half a dozen strong courses are inside the metropolitan area, and the airport itself is bracketed by two of them.

For a round on the way in or out of the airport, book Parador de Málaga Golf or the Real Club de Campo — both in Churriana, both under fifteen minutes from the terminal. For quieter tee sheets, head inland to Alhaurín or east to Baviera.

The courses, in more detail
Historic parkland course by the sea — the closest serious golf to the city, easy to combine with a night at the parador.
Spain's oldest golf club (1925), classic layout under mature pines. Book ahead in season.
River-valley course, less touristed, popular with locals and residents.
The gateway to the Costa del Sol's 'Golf Valley' — Los Naranjos, Las Brisas, Aloha and Rio Real all cluster nearby.
The easiest option for anyone staying east of the city (Nerja, Torre del Mar, La Axarquía).
Seve Ballesteros design, mountain views, quieter tee sheets midweek.
Season and pricing
High season is October to May, when northern Europeans travel south to play. Book two to four weeks ahead. June to September, tee sheets open up and green fees drop 15–30% — play early (07:30–09:00) and you avoid the heat. Winter mornings can be cool but rarely cold.
Getting to the course without a car
Taxis from central Málaga run €18–30 to the Churriana courses and €25–40 to Alhaurín. Uber and Bolt operate in the city. For the Marbella "Golf Valley", the Avanza bus from María Zambrano is the cheap option (€8, ~60 min); a taxi is €80–100. Baviera is easiest by car — no useful public transport.
